Greetings Fellow Dice Fans!

For our event, I played my Girl Power team (recently renamed Team Bronte – kudos if you watch Big Brother and don’t judge me if you don’t).

Some of the pictures are blurry or have weird glares, so if you can’t tell which version of a card is on a team, don’t be afraid to ask!

My Team

My Team

You can find the team build here, on DiceMastersDB.

So the main idea behind this team is to attack with She-Hulk and Silver Sable, forcing my opponent to block with Wasp’s Global. This will allow me to gain life and do damage to them. I also have Gamora’s Global as a backup way to KO a big nasty and Phoenix’s Global to taunt the big nasty into attacking. Zatanna is there as a form of ramp, and Cheetah is another aggro character that I love to pieces. Blue-Eyes may or may not be female… we don’t have any real indication on the card, so I can pretend it’s a girl. But it’s there for the Global to make it easier for me to buy the more expensive characters without having Professor X. Big Entrance helps with that a little and so does Resurrection.

Round One

Round One

Not much to say here. I died really fast before getting to do anything.

Record after Round One: 0-1-0

Round Two

Round Two

This player has been trying very hard to increase his skill level and his team. He’s done a great job and we’re proud of all the progress he’s made. He built a team based off of two other teams, and put his own little flair in it with the Giant Spider. It didn’t take him long to build up a small army using his Guy Garnders as Fabrication fuel. I was able to do more in this game, but the few characters that I had for blockers just weren’t enough to stop the Bard/Guy/Golem flood. While the game wasn’t close at all, I still had fun against him.

Record after Round Two: 0-2-0

Round Three

Round Three

And here is the all too familiar Action Arcana team that belongs to my amazing husband. I have a really bad habit of getting distracted and talking to folks that are watching the game while I’m playing. I really don’t need to do that because I miss things and it really isn’t being polite to your opponent, even if it’s my husband that I’ve played against a million times. I was able to get my combo to work a few times with Wasp forcing blockers and then attacking with She-Hulk and Silver Sable. I was able to gain some life and stay alive where I normally would have already been dead. We had a super close game and while I had fun, I totally missed a game winning attack – and it cost me the whole game. Although I’ve already apologized to Travis for getting distracted, I want to put it out there – on the internet for all to see – I’m very sorry for my poor sportsmanship!

Record after Round Three: 0-3-0
Final Standing: 4th

Final Thoughts

While I don’t believe that a brief, in-between turns chat is rude, what I did tonight was definitely rude. I carried on a conversation throughout both turns with folks that weren’t in the match. I believe your opponent deserves more respect than that, regardless of who they are. I will most definitely not be behaving like that again.

As for the team itself, the only card I want to change is Zatanna for Oracle, Master Investigator. I would also like to increase Silver Sable to three or four dice instead of two. I really like the team and I can’t wait to try it against our other casual players, who were all mostly gone because of the holiday weekend (United States, Fourth of July, Independence Day – for all the international readers that aren’t familiar with US holidays). I think changing Zatanna out for Oracle would be a great move and I’m really excited to try this team again.

What are some changes you’d make without changing the spirit of the team?

Roll on, Dice Masters!

  1. Jeez, look at all that Bard going on! That’s some high level competitive play going on right there.

We don’t see the Bard round my way at all – nobody wants to be “that guy”! LOL

I wouldn’t be so hard on yourself about the chatter. It’s totally acceptable where I play, especially if it’s a passer by who’s taking an interest…

    • Well, the ‘one guy’ won’t play anything outside of competitive teams and it’s a little frustrating but at the same time, he’s the reason our other players are becoming more competitive. But it also drains the fun out of it for others that want to play casual teams. It’s really a double edged sword.

  2. I empathise – I’m very lucky to play at a store where everyone keeps it pretty relaxed & casual, even on OP card nights. He must get pretty bored playing the same team every week!?!
